We are also reviewing double digit addition and subtraction. In reading we are working on identifying and using figures of speech such as similes and metaphors. The students are working to be able to describe nouns by comparing them to another object. We are continuing to work on our play! The production will take place May 16th in the afternoon. We are still working on a time. Please let me know if you are interested in helping during play practice next week! Our focus in science this week has been honeybees and pollination. We have had many discussions about how bees help pollinate many of our plants and the important role they play in our environment. The students are using this information to create bee fact books. Thank you for all of the kind words, and yummy treats this week! They are greatly appreciated! -Mrs. Melman

Hello parents, and caregivers,
This week the students are learning to write persuasive letters. They are currently trying to write me a letter persuading me to give them a pajama day! They are trying to think about their audience when writing, and have reasoning behind their ideas. We are wrapping up our unit on area and geometry. Students are working on being able to find the area of a shape and write equations to show how they got their answer. We are continuing to practice for our play. If your child has a speaking part, please be sure that they are practicing at home! They will need to have their part/parts memorized. I am looking for volunteers to help on Wednesday afternoons from 1:10-1:45. We need parents to assist students in running their lines.
