Hello parents, and caregivers,
Next week is our last library trip before Spring Break, please be sure to send your child’s books back so that they have fresh reading material for the break! Our class has had many students sick over the last few weeks. Be sure to talk with your student about hand washing! We are doing our best to clean and disinfect the classroom everyday. If your child has a fever, or has been vomiting, keep them home for 24 hours. We have finished our Project Lead the Way coolers and are waiting to complete the final test when all students are at school. We are learning about money, and strategies for counting money this week. It is helpful to have students help count change in real life situations to practice this skill. Our word family this week is -ay, oa, and ai words. We are also learning about homographs, or words that are spelled the same, but have two different meanings (ex. bat). We are finishing up our realistic fiction books using the writing process. We will begin making autobiographies soon. Next week Thursday we are having an open house at 5:30. There will be some recent projects on display as well as some STEM activities the students have been working on in class. -Mrs. Melman
