Hello parents, and caregivers,
This week we have been diving into fractions and probability. The students are learning to identify and divide shapes into halves, thirds, fourths, and eighths. We are also reviewing double digit addition and subtraction. In reading we are working on identifying and using figures of speech such as similes and metaphors. The students are working to be able to describe nouns by comparing them to another object. We are continuing to work on our play! The production will take place May 16th in the afternoon. We are still working on a time. Please let me know if you are interested in helping during play practice next week! Our focus in science this week has been honeybees and pollination. We have had many discussions about how bees help pollinate many of our plants and the important role they play in our environment. The students are using this information to create bee fact books. Thank you for all of the kind words, and yummy treats this week! They are greatly appreciated! -Mrs. Melman
