Hello parents, and caregivers,
This week we are working on our final Project Lead the Way project! The students will be applying their knowledge of matter to create a cooler that will keep a popsicle cold for one hour! We will work on these projects in class for the next two weeks. Our class Valentines party will be on February 14th. The students will trade valentines in the classroom. We will create a bag to collect them in, in the room. If your child chooses to bring valentines, please bring them for each child. We have 26 students in our class. We are continuing to work on measurement in mathematics. The students will also begin learning about fractions this week. Our weekly word family is ‘oo’ words. The students are also learning how to find the subject and predicate of a sentence. February also begins Black History Month! The students will be learning about many African Americans that made an impact on our country! The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming! Our students are super excited about the upcoming Book Fair, Feb. 6-10. Your child will fill out a Wish List on Feb. 2 or 3. Be looking for the Flier and Wish List to be coming home. Your child can make purchases during our scheduled times the Book Fair is open. The Book Fair is located on the 3rd floor in Room 300. The Book Fair will be hope Friday during Parent/Teacher Conferences. -Mrs. Melman
