Hello parents and caregivers,
November snack calendar went home Monday in blue daily folders, there is a copy available on the school website if you misplace yours! Just a reminder that students should be reading every night at home for 20 minutes. I have provided questions for deep thinking and discussion at home. These questions will help students become critical thinkers. As many of you may remember from last year, our students will be using an internet search engine for kids called pebblego. Pebble go is easy for students to use, and provides content knowledge on a variety of subjects. We will be using it in the classroom to research specific topics as a class and individually. I have attached our school login information so that students can also use it at home. Enrichment clusters will begin tomorrow, October 28th! Enrichment clusters will take place on Friday’s at the end of the day for 6 weeks. Students have the opportunity to explore a topic that they find interesting, with fellow students across 1st through 4th grade with that same interest. It is a great way to learn new skills, and to build our school community. If you have any questions, please let me know. We are hosting a very special Veteran's Day Blast Off! on Friday, Nov. 11th at 8:00 a.m. in JRCES Gym. We are inviting parents, grandparents, and family members that have served or are serving in the military to join us in honoring our Military Veterans. Please let Mrs. Fulmer know if you or a family member will be participating so we can have enough reserved seating for you. Students are encouraged to wear Red, White, & Blue shirts with uniform bottoms that day. -Mrs. Melman

Healthy Snacks – Our board policy requires that students shall not have access to Food of Minimal Nutritional Value except for on special occasions.
Please help us model healthy eating habits when you send snacks to school. Some ideas for healthy snacks include: fresh fruits or vegetables, pretzels, granola bars, banana chips, whole grain cereal, and nuts or cheese (if there are no food allergies). The other parents in your child’s class will appreciate it! |
