This week we will be focusing on the sun, and the planets in our solar system. Next week we will be concluding our space unit with a project called, The Rover Landing Project. Students will create an airbag system that can safely land an egg dropped on to the floor from the second story of our building, much like NASA uses to land its robotic spacecraft on Mars. I will also be sending home a project over the long weekend for students to do more research on a planet of their choosing.
In reading this week we will be reviewing how to retell a story. Students will be working to identify the beginning, middle, and ending of a story, as well as the problem and solution. These are great talking points for at home reading. Next week is parent teacher conference week. Please sign up online for a time slot for your child. If you are not receiving class emails, please contact me.
